Joseph Wu

Hello! I’m Joseph. I am a second year Psychiatry resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School.

I write about issues in public health ethics, medical education, and health policy.

Before Brigham, I was a medical student at Brown (2019 - 2023).

Before Brown, I was an MPhil and then PhD student in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at Cambridge (2015 - 2020). My PhD dissertation was on the ethics of cancer screening, and this research was funded by a Gates Cambridge Scholarship.

Before Cambridge, I studied philosophy as an undergraduate at Duke (2011 - 2015).
